Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ Launched In India: Price, Specifications And More

Samsung has launched its Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagship smartphones in India. Galaxy S8 priced at Rs 57,900 while the Galaxy S8+ costs Rs 64,900 will be available exclusively via Flipkart and the Samsung India E-Store. Pre-orders of the phone will take place from 3 PM on the e-commerce site and the smartphones start shipping from May 5. Reliance Jio is offering ‘Double Data Offer’ to Samsung galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ users that provides 28GB+28GB data per month at a monthly recharge of Rs 309.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Sports a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2960 x 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display which is curved on both sides while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad-HD display. Samsung likes to call “Infinity” display due to the increased screen size. Galaxy S8 and S8+ is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor which is an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and another quad-core module clocked at 1.9GHz. Both the smartphones come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones feature 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear cameras with optical image stabilisation and an f/1.7 aperture. On the front, the smartphones bear 8-megapixel front cameras with autofocus, and also bear an f/1.7 aperture.

Both of them runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The Galaxy S8 powered by a 3,000mAh battery whereas the Galaxy S8+ offers a 3,500mAh battery. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ support wireless charging as well as fast charging.

Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. They both support Samsung Pay, with NFC and MST connectivity. The two smartphones come with iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition.

The smartphone will be available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Maple Gold colour variants. The Galaxy S8 measures 148.9×68.1x8mm and weighs 155 grams, while the Galaxy S8+ measures 159.5×73.4×8.1mm and weighs 173 grams.
