Xiaomi Mi 6 With 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 835, Dual Camera Setup Launched
Xiaomi has finally unveiled it’s much-anticipated Mi 6 flagship smartphone in an event in Beijing, China today. The device is the successor to last year’s Mi 5. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 23,500) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, and CNY 2,899 (approximately Rs. 27,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. the company has also launched the Mi 6 Ceramic Edition with 6GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage which is priced at 2,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 28,109). The smartphone will come in Blue, Black and Silver colour options and will go for sale in China on April 28.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch display and comes with a four-sided 3D glass design. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor – the Snapdragon 835 clocked at 2.45GHz. The 10nm processor is 35 percent smaller and 25 percent more efficient than its predecessor. The smartphone comes with the Adreno 540GPU, 6GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a dual camera setup at the rear – a 12MP wide-angle sensor with 4-axis optical image stabilisation and a 12MP telephoto lens. The telephoto lens allows for 2X optical lossless zoom which exists along with the 10X digital zoom. On its front, it has an 8-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling.
The smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 8 on top of it. The fingerprint scanner is placed in the front under the glass. The handset packs 3350mAh battery. Xiaomi Mi 6 is splash-resistant with its SIM tray protected against splashes as well.
For connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G network with VoLTE and offers Dual SIM, Dual speakers, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GLONASS, NFC and USB-Type C. Xiaomi Mi 6 supports 4G+ networks with download speed of up to 600Mbps and up to 100Mbps upload speed.
