Xiaomi Starts Rolling Out MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM For Supported Devices

Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 8.2 Stable ROM for select Mi handsets. The update is being pushed in the form of an OTA update but users can also manually check from the updater app. The update is only available for Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G.

while the Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Qualcomm), Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 MTK, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime, Xiaomi Mi 2, Xiaomi Mi 2S, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Mi 5s, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, Xiaomi Redmi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 3 Prime, Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Qualcomm) will be eligible for the MIUI 8.2 update after February 20.

There is a full changelog available at the source as well. Some highlights include an improved layout for the notification shade, some lockscreen and notification visual tweaks, as well as brand new system sounds and ringtones. Aside from cosmetic changes, there are some new features, as well. Users can now take full control of the built-in automated tasks feature. Also, the OS will now do an antivirus scan when installing apps outside of the Play Store.
