BSNL Offers unlimited local And STD Calls, Bundled Data Plans At Rs. 144


Following the launch of unlimited-calling plans by several telecom operators, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) on Saturday joined the bandwagon with a new Rs144 plan for its customers.


BSNL is offering unlimited local and STD calls to any network over a period of one month. Users will also be getting 300MB of free data usage and the new plan is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers.

BSNL had previously introduced a plan that provided unlimited BSNL to BSNL local calling for Rs 99 a month, with 300 MB of data. For Rs 339, users could avail free voice calls across India to any network, along with 1 GB of data. BSNL also offers unlimited data over 3G for Rs 1,999 a month.

“We have 4,400 Wi-Fi hotspots launched country wide. I think in Mahabalipuram near Chennai has a similar Wi-Fi hotspots. Our immediate strategy is to expand this. In next one year, we will be having around 40,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country,” BSNL chairman and managing director Anupam Srivastava told reporters.

Besides, the company had also obtained 2500MHz from Government of India for launching service in rural areas, he said, adding BSNL would unveil classic LTE (Long Term Evolution) spectrum in phased manner.
